Kleptomanim erupts from Tel Aviv’s underground scene where they have been active for the last 7 years, with a ferocious blend of noise rock and post-punk that channels the confrontational spirit of Unwound, The Jesus Lizard, and Swans through the lens of Tel Aviv’s DIY counterculture. The three-piece—featuring Hila Melamed (drums), Itamar Gurfinkel (bass), and Oryan Pinku (guitar/vocals)—has carved out a reputation for blistering live performances that transform venues into cathartic pressure chambers, from the sweaty basement of shady Industrial areas to larger stages and festivals. Fresh off their December 2024 split E.P release with Jerusalem’s Bein Haharisot (limited to 300 vinyl copies via Holit Records), Their sound combines garage punk fury, post-punk tension, and visceral screams with surreal lyricism that captures a restless female energy—all forged in the pressure of creating art in an intense and challenging environment where isolation breeds fierce creative independence.
