SUMMARY:Worldbrain + Superpositivity
DESCRIPTION:Lucas Chantre’s first encounters with music came through his
mother’s eclectic album collection - Prince\, Mariah Carey\, and Suzann
e Vega. Later\, radio and television introduced him to rap\, R&B\, and 90s
house. His pop influences range from Kate Bush to Aphex Twin\, alongside
a deep appreciation for film and animation soundtracks\, with a particular
fascination for the scores of DEVO’s Mark Mothersbaugh. Chantre began w
riting songs at 16\, often performing with his sister on bass and violin.
His musical interests continued to expand as he explored classical music\,
discovered music from Brazil\, Japan\, and across Africa\, and deepened h
is love of film scores. Joining the experimental pop band Fenster in 2013
marked the beginning of his career as a recording and touring artist. Sinc
e a breakthrough solo performance in 2017\, Chantre has performed over 100
shows across Europe and America\, sharing stages with artists including C
hris Cohen\, Altin Gün\, Alex G\, and Allah Las. He has also continued to
collaborate with Fenster bandmate JJ Weihl\, appearing on three of her al
bums as Discovery Zone. Peer 2 Peer\, the first release of his WORLD BRAIN
project\, arrived in 2019\, with several songs from the album later featu
red on Hulu’s High Fidelity and HBO’s High Maintenance. 2024’s Open
Source delivered more of Chantre’s heartfelt lyrics and captivating melo
dies while showcasing his continued artistic evolution and dedication to h
is craft. WORLD VS BRAIN\, his new EP\, takes this evolution further\, ope
ning into an electro-pastoral psychedelic soundworld of its own.Superposit
ivity besingt die Tristesse mit warmen Synths bei kaltem Herzen. Ein Sound
zwischen Schimmer und Schatten\, zwischen Absturz und Aufbruch. Superposi
tivity ist megahappiness. Und megahappiness is a warm gun.
